Radio Interview & "Black Pearl" News

[info]sueprano brought this new radio interview to my attention. It aired August 8 on BBC Radio 1's Edith Bowman show, but I think it was recorded a couple of weeks ago when Mark was in London for STAR WARS Celebration Europe.

Here is the link, great photo inclusive:

In the interview Mark says that he hopes to be in pre-production for the film adaptation of "The Black Pearl" this fall and to start shooting in January/February 2008. He also mentioned that maybe the movie'll be at the Cannes Film Festival next year. Sounds pretty cool, all of it, doesn't it?

Enjoy!

Thanks!

Thanks Sienn and Sue.
He says Black Pearl will be something of a documentary. I wonder if he just means the format will be like that of a docu, or if he means he will be making a docu about Black Pearl, the comic. I hope it's the former, but I will watch it no matter what it turns out to be. :D

The radio interview was interesting, despite the way his answers were so obviously spliced into the otherwise-live program. :D

And speaking of radio, does anyone know what all this is about then?

Re: Thanks!

It...seems like...Mark's got a radio show now. Okay.

Radio America?

...Mark's conservative?

Um, nice.

Re: Radio America?

Don't think you can say that just because that station is called Radio America! Well, I don't want to say the station is not conservative, since basically I have no idea, but, you know, Mark's show has nothing whatsoever to do with politics. NOTHING. So you're quite save to tune in. :)

I really never heard him specifically mention what his politics are. In fact, I think he once said he prefers not to tell people what his politics are and other such real-life details because he enjoys being a cypher to them. And I sympathize with that.

In any case, we have also channels here that are called like "Radio Germany", and they're neither conservative nor nationalist or anything of the sort. I suppose people just don't get very creative naming radio stations. ;)

Re: Thanks!

He surprised with that documentary thing as well. I'm really wondering now what approach he'll take and what the final product will look like. Very exciting. :)

Back when I ordered "Comic Book: The Movie", I was wondering whether I'd like it. I've reached a point where I don't doubt for a second that whatever "The Black Pearl" will be like, I'm going to like it.

And YAY! YAY! YAY! for Mark having his own radio show! MARK RULES!
