"Hamilton" Movie Trailer

This should be a real goodie to all US Mark Hamill fans, since you've never had the good fortune to get your hands on "Hamilton", the 1998 movie in which Mark starred alongside Peter Stormare and Lena Olin as terrorist Michael Hawkins.

I found a trailer of the movie on YouTube. I think this is the theatrical trailer, but I don't know that for sure.

Do not let the Swedish scare you away. Mark talks English and he is in the trailer - he's announced by name and there's a short of one of his scenes. And even if you don't understand Swedish, there is enough English spoken so that you will understand what's going on.

This is one of the things I've always liked about the film. There is a mix of languages in the original. The Swedish guys are talking Swedish among themselves, but they have lots of dealings with US forces, with Russians etc. and then they speak English. So you can follow what's happening even if you're watching the original and don't know a syllable of Swedish.

"Hamilton" belongs to my favorite Mark movies. You can check out a short summary, DVD details and pics of Mark as Michael Hawkins on my website Just The Best.

It`s a great movie actually with great cast! I was watching it in original and was surprised that they actually speak Russian in the beginning.
I know not a word in Swedish, but I have understood all the story allright.
Did you see the version that has the scene of Hawkins meeting up with some of the members of the Russian conspiracy and gets all worked up because he has to stay for a while longer in Russia? I loved that scene.

I'm glad that you say you understood the story alright. I was thinking maybe had an advantage because the first time I saw the movie it was the German-dubbed version, so I already knew the plot when I watched the original.
Yeah, I saw the scene with Hawkins/Russian guys meeting. :)

That`s why I said the movie is good - it`s very well done. All the visuals tell the story just as well. For instance when Hamillton tells his wife about the masacre in the snow he took part in, it was all shown, So, even though I didn`t know what he was telling about initially, when the visuals came up... all the plot became understandable. Withough that sceene I wouldn`t known what he was telling her and so on - all the movie is actually visual storytelling - not just merely dialogues/monologues and shooting/action separately - in other words - there were no "talking head", but visual action.

In Russia we are having a lot of "talking head" in movies and TV now - it`s cheaper to shoot - you don`t have to do all the background and stuff - it`s soo easy to shoot just closeup of an actor talking...
Nicely said and I agree with everything you're mentioning. "Hamilton" truly is a well-made movie with an excellent cast. It's a pity it never made it to German theaters. That'd have been a blast.

Thanks so much for finding and posting about this. HAMILTON remains one of the few Hamill projects I've wanted to see and yet never have. I keep hoping one day a version will be released for US audiences, but I fear it's a hope in vain.
You're welcome! And there might be a surprise for you in a moment. It deserves an extra post, though, so I'm not telling yet. *smirks*
Scruffy Mark. Ooo...
He was delicious in this movie. And very evil. An excellent combination, if you ask me. :)
Wow, that looks like a great movie! I wish the dvd was released here in the US. I'm jealous.
I thought it was a great movie. You need a bit of patience for Mark to show up in his first scene, but you'll be compensated. He totally makes it up to you. His character and Peter Stormare's HATE each other. The scenes in which they clash are awesome.

Now, don't be jealous... just wait for my next post. *winks*
