Back with a Voice Goodie

I can't believe how long it's been since I last posted here. The past couple of weeks have been very hectic. First I was down with a cold, then I had to tackle the time table chaos for university. And tomorrow classes will start. So I didn't have a whole lot of time for this journal. I hope this is going to change again.

I have a large number of ideas, both for Just The Best and for this journal here. For example I'd like to write reviews of the Mark stuff I have seen and post them here. I think it'd be a handy way, since people could easily leave their opinion by commenting on my posts. I've grown wiser however (though only minusculely) and won't say WHEN I'm going to do this, since I basically don't have any idea whatsoever. You'll just have to let yourself be surprised.

I'd like to share some Mark goodness with you.

I discovered a voicebit from his latest appearance as Fire Lord Ozai on "Avatar". When you go to the link below, scroll down a little and you'll find some audio clips. Click on "Welcome Home" and enjoy. This is why we want him to voice villains. ;) He sounds deliciously evil although he's not actually being evil in that scene...

Well, go and listen for yourself.

On an off note, I've been so disappointed that Mark hasn't been on with "Better Things" for weeks. I imagine it's "The Black Pearl" adaptation that's keeping him tied up elsewhere, and gosh, I so want to see this movie, but I'm still missing that radio show. *sighs*

Cool

Back & Bearing News

I just finished listening to yesterday's issue of Better Things. I can't tell you how happy I am that Mark decided to go back to the "no news, no weather, no finances" approach. Again, the last show where they were leafing through the then-current issue of "USA Today" was mighty interesting, but just like Mark says, the weekend is for relaxation and how better to relax than by laughing and grinning for about 2 hours straight listening to him on that show?

I was getting jealous, too, because there are so many new series coming up on US TV. It'll be forever until we get them here. *rolls eyes* I'd especially love a new sitcom. Ever since "The Nanny", "Home Improvement" and "3rd Rock from the Sun" there hasn't been a new sitcom that really got me hooked.

Anyway, back to Mr Mark "Awesome" Hamill.

[info]celosia found out that Issue #97 of the "STAR WARS Insider" will feature an all-new exclusive Mark Hamill interview! YAY! I can't wait! Apparently there'll be 2 covers for this. The cover of the newsstands edition and a special collectors cover with Mark on it. You can see them on Wookieepedia.

It's going to come out on October 23 in the US and on October 25 in the UK.

Fancy

The A & E Mark Biography

Unbelievable as it sounds, I actually managed to stick to my pre-set schedule for the week. If you go to Just The Best you'll find an all-new section on the Mark Hamill biography screened by "Arts & Entertainment" in 2001.

I don't know how many of you have ever seen this. On the site I have a brief rundown and 13 screen captions. Unfortunately it seems that the A & E store no longer has the video for sale. I find this really sad, because this biography is such a wonderful feature.

On another note, I listened to yesterday's issue of "Better Things" this morning. So Mark took a vacation last week. Naughty man; he could have told us! *grins*

Whereas I found the new format they tried very, very interesting, I think I'd love for them to go back to what they first tried. In any case, it was highly enjoyable again and once again full of anecdotes from Mark's personal life. In short, 2 hours of fan heaven. :)

Stunning

Mix Up on the Radio

Did you already check out the Monster Radio Audio Archive to download Mark's radio show from yesterday, August 18?

If so, I've got to ask you a question. Is it just me or is this actually the show from August 4 that they have up for download right now? I know the date they list on the site is August 18, but in the show I got when I had finished the download, Mark still didn't have all of the 15 talking Simpsons toys and he said it was only the 3rd week of the show, whereas last week was their 1-month anniversary!

I haven't decided yet what I feel about this mix-up. On the one hand, it's cool that I got to download the August 4 issue, because at the time I didn't even know of Mark's radio show. On the other hand I really, really, really want the latest Mark fix from yesterday!

Of course there is always the possibility that I was doing something wrong, so if any of you got the August 18 issue, tell me where you did, please! :)

"Better Things" with Mark Hamill

What's that, you ask? It's Mark's very own radio show!

Yes, you heard right! Mark's got his own radio show on Radio America's Monster Radio!

Together with his two co-moderators he's hosting two hours of fun stuff every Saturday, from 8 to 10 PM (ET).

Go to the official Radio America website to find out how to listen in live online or via your radio.

The website also offers a download of the most recent show, which'd be the one from yesterday, August 11.

It's nearly 2 hours of pure fun! Don't miss this and when you've listened to it, let's talk about it! :) Personally I like the premise of the show very much. I know I'll be joining Mark and his co-mods in that treehouse every week. ;)
