It's called Stars - The Powerhouses of the Universe and is screened several times during the Opening Weekend.

So when you're in or close to Nashville and don't have anything to do, maybe you want to go and listen to Mark's wonderful voice. ;D

He looks great! :D

As soon as I learn more about the voiceover project I'll let you all know.

BTS of Mark voicing for NEW-GEN

The site for NEW-GEN is finally up and running. I, at least, had problems accessing it last week. Now it's up there, though, and it's great.

You can get a good idea of the style and all the characters, including Mark's. Remember, his character is called Gabriel.

The real treat is the Behind the Scenes section, though.

There is a very, very long video of Mark voicing Gabriel in the trailer. You see him work. It's super cool. You see how it works out, how he reads the sentences in different versions and everything. It's funny seeing him do the fight sounds and he's his usual captivating self.

If anybody finds out how to save this video stream, please let me know!

Mark on "Jeannie" - Part II

Here is the next episode of the 1973 animated cartoon Jeannie in which Mark voiced Corey Anders. This should be Episode 9 of Season 1. No guarantee on that, though.

    Brent Spiner on Mark

The website of the UK magazine SFX has an exclusive interview with Brent Spiner about his latest project, "Dreamland".

Mark voices for "Dreamland" and Brent briefly mentions getting him involved in the project.

"And Mark Hamill – that was just a lucky stroke! I knew Mark a little bit and my friend Mac who did the arrangements is good friends with him. So he asked Mark if he’d do it, and sent him a script - and he liked it! 'Let’s do it!'"

    The full interview is here.

If you want to see a documentary on the making of "Dreamland" and get a feel for what it's all about, take a look at this clip here. It also features a sequence on Mark at 5:45 minutes.

Mark on "Jeannie" - Part I

In 1973, Mark voiced Corey Anders in the animated series "Jeannie". It was one of his first voiceacting jobs ever.

On YouTube I was able to find three episodes of the show and I will be sharing them one by one. The first one happens to be the series' premiere, "Surfs Up!" and is up on YouTube in two parts.

    Voiceover News and Images

I'm trying very hard to be on here more often and post more often. It's not as though there isn't plenty of Mark stuff to share out there. I promise I'll do an effort.

Today, I have a new voiceover project of Mark to announce. Word of it was discovered by our fellow fan [info]sueprano and it doesn't only come with its own website, but also with cute Mark pictures. :)

So go and check out Mythic Journeys. Mark is voicing a character called "The Corpse". On the site above you'll find a photo of Mark when you scroll down to the bottom of the page.

Another image is in the site gallery.

And I think I never did a post about the auction that is underway where you can win a private lunch with Mark. For all necessary information go to
this website here. You can enter bids until November 29, so you still have some time. If that ain't the ultimate Christmas present...

    Back with a Voice Goodie

I can't believe how long it's been since I last posted here. The past couple of weeks have been very hectic. First I was down with a cold, then I had to tackle the time table chaos for university. And tomorrow classes will start. So I didn't have a whole lot of time for this journal. I hope this is going to change again.

I have a large number of ideas, both for Just The Best and for this journal here. For example I'd like to write reviews of the Mark stuff I have seen and post them here. I think it'd be a handy way, since people could easily leave their opinion by commenting on my posts. I've grown wiser however (though only minusculely) and won't say WHEN I'm going to do this, since I basically don't have any idea whatsoever. You'll just have to let yourself be surprised.

I'd like to share some Mark goodness with you.

I discovered a voicebit from his latest appearance as Fire Lord Ozai on "Avatar". When you go to the link below, scroll down a little and you'll find some audio clips. Click on "Welcome Home" and enjoy. This is why we want him to voice villains. ;) He sounds deliciously evil although he's not actually being evil in that scene...

Well, go and listen for yourself.

On an off note, I've been so disappointed that Mark hasn't been on with "Better Things" for weeks. I imagine it's "The Black Pearl" adaptation that's keeping him tied up elsewhere, and gosh, I so want to see this movie, but I'm still missing that radio show. *sighs*

    The Mark Week

I've been busy researching the availability of Mark's movies and voiceovers during the past week. You can access it all on Just The Best. There are separate lists for Movies on DVD, Movies on VHS, Voiceovers on DVD, Voiceovers on VHS and Voiceovers on CD. I found some real gems, so you should take a moment and check it all out.

I also found a cute, short Mark interview on YouTube. It's an on-set interview from when he did "Wing Commander 4". The first part is with Tom Wilson, the second part with Mark. Short, but nice.

I also found out that Mark narrated the featurette "Green Arrow: The Legend Of The Emerald Archer" on the DVD box for the 6th season of "Smallville". Go check out DVDTalk for all relevant information.

    Whatever Happened to...

    ..."Monsters Wanted"?

    Do you remember that show?

I was watching the 2002 Mark biography this morning and they have a rather extensive segment showing Mark directing "Monsters Wanted", having a ball. The tiny little scene they show is hilarious and I liked the concept already when I first heard of it.

Ever since, though, I can't recall "Monsters Wanted" having been mentioned anywhere. It made me wonder whether it was ever actually aired?

I have been googling around, but haven't found any illuminating piece of news so far. Does anybody have an idea where one could find out more?

    Pulling Pics Together

I've been thinking about how to best archive all the images and other media I've collected from Mark's appearance at Celebration Europe. I'm still not entirely sure how to best do this; I have very limited webspace at Just The Best, so I can't really upload them all there.

For the moment, I have added ALL images I found at Flickr.com to my favorites there, so in case you're catching up, you don't need to follow every single link I posted throughout the last couple of weeks separately.

Here are my Flickr.com favorites. Enjoy! :)

I'll wait a couple of days before I add all Mark images (i.e. all that are not of CE) I find on that site to my favorites.

There's also a piece of voiceover news, sort of. Mark has been interviewed on a feature called The Dark Knight Revisited, which is a special on the recent DVD release of the 1977 animated series The New Adventures of Batman. Thought you'd like to know.

    Cool

    Another Voiceover DVD Release

I just found out that the 1st season of Metalocalypse will see a DVD release on October 2 this year. I wonder whether there'll be a second season shot and whether Mark will be featured as prominently in it as he was in the first one.

The series is too brutal for my taste, although it's worth it to bear the gore and the violence long enough to hear Mark with a French accent. ;) 'Course this is just my personal opinion; I know the show has a lot of fans, and that's great. :)

On a side note, as you can see I did a layout change again. Don't ask me whether that's it now. For the moment, at least, I'm reasonably satisfied. ;)

    YouTube Sojourn

You should make yourself comfortable in front of your computer and make a little trip to YouTube. An assortment of great Mark videos has been uploaded.

There is a behind-the-scenes video of Mark voicing Wolverine, in the computer game X2: Wolverine's Revenge. You can see him actually voice the character, and he's commenting on it.

    Mark on 'Wolverine'

Then there are four clips from the movie Time Runner up, in which Mark played the lead hero Michael Raynor

    'Time Runner' Part 1
    'Time Runner' Part 2
    'Time Runner' Part 3
    'Time Runner' Part 4

There's also a first part of Mark on the series Amazing Stories, where he starred in the episode Gather Ye Acorns:

    New Image + Voiceover News

Again it's been a couple of days since I posted. At least today I'm coming before you with a whole lot of news.

First of all, I found another photo of Mark at Celebration Europe:

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/jan-quicoran/969510977/

Then there'll be two things to add to your DVD collection of Mark's voiceover work.

On August 14, the complete 2nd season of Loonatics Unleashed will be released on DVD, featuring the episode A Creep in the Deep, in which Mark voiced the lead villain Adolpho.

On November 20, the complete 4th season of The Batman will be released on DVD, featuring the episode A Matter of Family, in which Mark voiced the character of Tony Zucco. Find out more at Superhero Times.

There's another piece of voiceover related news where I'm not sure whether I'm interpreting it right. Once again this year Nickelodeon is holding the Nicktoons Network Animation Festival. If you check out the
Frederator blog, it says "Patrick, Genndy, Mark, Joanna, Steve, and Michael join our previous judges – Gabor Csupo, Andreas Deja, Michael DiMartino, Mike Gabriel, Eric Goldberg, Mark Hamill [...]". I'm not sure whether this means that Mark WILL BE a judge on the festival or whether he won't be. To learn all about the festival regardless, visit its official website!

    Animals, Corvettes and Barbarians

As I was putting together next week's US TV schedule for Just The Best, I stumbled upon another voiceover project of Mark that I hadn't heard of.

In 2004, there was a series of documentaries called Animal Icons, which was dedicated to "examining the history and legacy of famous pop-culture animal characters from television, movies and books." As I found out, Mark was an interviewee in the 9th episode of this series of documentaries, which was screened on June 8, 2005. Not surprisingly, the episode was called Animated Animals. I got this information from TVGuide.com. The site that had originally set me onto the trail of this series credited Mark for the episode on Godzilla, but TVGuide.com doesn't say anything about that.

This covers the animal part of the subject line. Now on to the Corvette.

The corvette Mark lovingly rebuilt and chased all throughout Las Vegas in Corvette Summer will be on display September 21 to September 23 at the 14th Annual Corvette Funfest, to be held in Effingham, Illinois. Maybe this isn't something you'd fly halfway across the US for, but if you happen to be in Illinois, or even close to Effingham, why not take a look? I sure would. :)
The Funfest has its own website.

What else was there? Oh yes, the Barbarians. The first blog entry for the Conan: Red Nails animated movie is online and it's all about the movie's voice cast. Go to the Conan: Red Nails blog. Mark's praise is sung AND they say that he voiced A NUMBER OF roles in the movie. So far I knew only of a nasty villain named Tolkemec. Isn't this cool?

    Stunning

    New Voiceover Project

I found this piece of information this morning. Apparently Mark has voiced for a new cartoon show that is going to be on Nickelodeon some time this year. It's called Random! Cartoons. His character is Frank, the Director, and he will appear in the third episode of season 1, Krunch and the Kid.

I found a blog entry by one of the creative people on the show who personally worked with Mark.

    http://newtoons.frederator.com/post/207

Obviously, the actual recording dates back to last September.

The blog entry is short, but don't we all love these little snippets of Mark's everyday life? I know I do. :)

Mark's episode on "The Little Mermaid"

I was doing some Mark surfing on YouTube yesterday and found the complete episode A Tail of Two Crabs from The Little Mermaid animated series.

It's great quality. Mark voices Zeus, a crab Sebastian has always been jealous of, because Zeus is so perfect.

One of my favorite scenes is at the end of the episode, just after Zeus saved everybody from Ursula's evil plot. Zeus admits that there's one thing in which Sebastian is better than him - in making friends. Awwww.... Then Zeus starts crying and he and Sebastian end up trying to beat each other in who's better at crying. It's so funny.

Unfortunately, YouTube has taken the videos off. :(

But The Little Mermaid is still running on Disney Channel; keep checking the TV schedule at Just The Best for when the episode is next on.

For now here are a couple of pics of Zeus.

    Cute, isn't he?

Has anybody already seen this, by chance? I've always loved this Disney series. :)
