Brent Spiner on Mark

The website of the UK magazine SFX has an exclusive interview with Brent Spiner about his latest project, "Dreamland".

Mark voices for "Dreamland" and Brent briefly mentions getting him involved in the project.

"And Mark Hamill – that was just a lucky stroke! I knew Mark a little bit and my friend Mac who did the arrangements is good friends with him. So he asked Mark if he’d do it, and sent him a script - and he liked it! 'Let’s do it!'"

The full interview is here.

If you want to see a documentary on the making of "Dreamland" and get a feel for what it's all about, take a look at this clip here. It also features a sequence on Mark at 5:45 minutes.

Mark Mention in Palin Book

Has my fandom become enough of an obsession for me to seriously consider buying a 608-page book about a topic I am not at all interested in just because one single page sports the magical and electrifying name Mark Hamill?

I am proud to say that I'm not quite that off the deep end.

Anyway, I'm talking about Michael Palin's book "Diaries 1969-1979: The Python Years" and the fact that he very briefly mentions meeting Mark and Harrison Ford at a party.

Lay readers will find that the central charm of the Palin diaries resides in his wry descriptions of the rich and famous. He seems to have gone to all the right parties. "The two heroes of 'Star Wars' are also there," he tells us of one. "[Mark] Hamill is chirpy and is dressed like a delivery boy. Harrison Ford looks young and alienated. He would look over his glasses at us if he had any. As it is he moves broodingly around -- like a famous man might do if he knew how famous he is."

There is a review of the book at the website of the Los Angeles Times.

I don't know where that "delivery boy" comparison comes from, but chirpy sounds just about right. :)

I've never seen a Monty Python movie, and I know that's a huge gap in my education. One day I'll have to fill it, but knowing me, it'll be a long, long time until I do. But maybe some of you love Python and might even be interested in reading this book, Mark mention or not.

I think I might go to the library and photocopy the site that has Mark's name on it.

And no, I am not obsessed. Really.

Please stop laughing.
