"Hamilton" on Region 1 DVD!

This is such a coincidence. I was checking Amazon.com for something else this morning and stumbled over this.

All you US Mark fans will be THRILLED. I found out that "Hamilton" has been released for the US DVD market! It's up there! You can buy it with just a click!

And at $7,98 I think the price is more than acceptable. It doesn't say what version this is and I suppose there won't be any extras on the DVD (though, who knows?), but this is awesome all the same!

Here is the link to the movie at Amazon.

I'm all excited for you US Hamillites to see it!

"Hamilton" Movie Trailer

This should be a real goodie to all US Mark Hamill fans, since you've never had the good fortune to get your hands on "Hamilton", the 1998 movie in which Mark starred alongside Peter Stormare and Lena Olin as terrorist Michael Hawkins.

I found a trailer of the movie on YouTube. I think this is the theatrical trailer, but I don't know that for sure.

Do not let the Swedish scare you away. Mark talks English and he is in the trailer - he's announced by name and there's a short of one of his scenes. And even if you don't understand Swedish, there is enough English spoken so that you will understand what's going on.

This is one of the things I've always liked about the film. There is a mix of languages in the original. The Swedish guys are talking Swedish among themselves, but they have lots of dealings with US forces, with Russians etc. and then they speak English. So you can follow what's happening even if you're watching the original and don't know a syllable of Swedish.

"Hamilton" belongs to my favorite Mark movies. You can check out a short summary, DVD details and pics of Mark as Michael Hawkins on my website Just The Best.

Will we be seeing Mark on screen again?

Apparently nothing has been decided yet, but there's at least reason to hope that we MIGHT be seeing Mark on screen in a new movie.

StarNewsOnline reports that director Mike Roberts is currently in talks with Mark for a part in his new independent movie The Science of Cool

Here's the article I found this morning.

We don't seem to be speaking of a lead role here, but just to see Mark on screen again... It'd be SO COOL! 'Specially since we know he won't be acting in "The Black Pearl".

Of course I realize this is just a rumor right now. I don't know whether we should get our hopes up. But just MAYBE the role will catch Mark's fancy, and just MAYBE he'll be able to somehow fit it into his schedule. Then just MAYBE we'll see one of the best actors out there on screen again. Let's cross fingers, everyone!!!

'Thank You, Good Night' Soundtrack

Three of the songs from the award-winning independent movie "Thank You, Good Night", in which Mark played Karl Kaufman, are now officially available for download at iTunes.

The article I found at PRWeb also said that Netflix will have the film up for rent online in fall this year. You can buy the DVD at Amazon.

I haven't seen the film yet, but I own the DVD and hope to watch it some time soon.

Radio Interview & "Black Pearl" News

[info]sueprano brought this new radio interview to my attention. It aired August 8 on BBC Radio 1's Edith Bowman show, but I think it was recorded a couple of weeks ago when Mark was in London for STAR WARS Celebration Europe.

Here is the link, great photo inclusive:

In the interview Mark says that he hopes to be in pre-production for the film adaptation of "The Black Pearl" this fall and to start shooting in January/February 2008. He also mentioned that maybe the movie'll be at the Cannes Film Festival next year. Sounds pretty cool, all of it, doesn't it?

Enjoy!

YouTube Sojourn

You should make yourself comfortable in front of your computer and make a little trip to YouTube. An assortment of great Mark videos has been uploaded.

There is a behind-the-scenes video of Mark voicing Wolverine, in the computer game X2: Wolverine's Revenge. You can see him actually voice the character, and he's commenting on it.

Then there are four clips from the movie Time Runner up, in which Mark played the lead hero Michael Raynor

'Time Runner' Part 1
'Time Runner' Part 2

There's also a first part of Mark on the series Amazing Stories, where he starred in the episode Gather Ye Acorns:

Movie News!

I can bring this piece of news to you thanks to fellow Mark addict Celosia, who discovered it in an interview Mark gave at the 30th anniversary SW screening on Monday.

I'm taking the important line out of the interview, so don't worry if you have no idea what he's talking about. What counts is this one, sole line:

I've only directed one film, I'll be directing another in the fall, but I'd really want the background people to know the story and feel like they're a part of it.

Do you see this? DO YOU SEE THIS?

He's going to direct ANOTHER FILM! And THIS FALL! Whohoooooooo!

I have no idea what film - will he bring The Black Pearl to screen? Will he do a Comic Book: The Movie sequel? Is he going to do something completely different?

In fact, I don't care! I can't wait either way! :)
