What I've been blogging about

This is a little something [info]fionna_g brought to my attention and I thought I'd do it, too.

It's real fun to try to figure out how some of these made it in there...

Breathtaking

New JTB Layout

I thought I'd let you know that I've just finalized the new layout for Just The Best. I already uploaded most of it last week, but put the finishing touches on it only this morning.

Hope you like! :)

Chaos Everywhere :)

Hi everyone,

I want to offer my sincere apologies to all visitors of my LJ and especially to all my friends that I've been so unforgivably rare on here. As it often happens, a multitude of unfair little time eaters converged upon me - starting with uni stress, Christmas and New Year holidays, being ill, an internet connection that was down for a full 48 hours just when I thought I'd have the time to catch up and a new layout for Just The Best that hasn't worked out the way I wanted it to and which I'll have to change again.

So there...

I promise that starting from this weekend I'll catch up with all my LJ friends and will be posting more often again. Fortunately (kinda, sorta) there haven't been many news in Markland so you haven't actually missed anything big. Hopefully we will soon hear more about "The Black Pearl". :)

Back with a Voice Goodie

I can't believe how long it's been since I last posted here. The past couple of weeks have been very hectic. First I was down with a cold, then I had to tackle the time table chaos for university. And tomorrow classes will start. So I didn't have a whole lot of time for this journal. I hope this is going to change again.

I have a large number of ideas, both for Just The Best and for this journal here. For example I'd like to write reviews of the Mark stuff I have seen and post them here. I think it'd be a handy way, since people could easily leave their opinion by commenting on my posts. I've grown wiser however (though only minusculely) and won't say WHEN I'm going to do this, since I basically don't have any idea whatsoever. You'll just have to let yourself be surprised.

I'd like to share some Mark goodness with you.

I discovered a voicebit from his latest appearance as Fire Lord Ozai on "Avatar". When you go to the link below, scroll down a little and you'll find some audio clips. Click on "Welcome Home" and enjoy. This is why we want him to voice villains. ;) He sounds deliciously evil although he's not actually being evil in that scene...

Well, go and listen for yourself.

On an off note, I've been so disappointed that Mark hasn't been on with "Better Things" for weeks. I imagine it's "The Black Pearl" adaptation that's keeping him tied up elsewhere, and gosh, I so want to see this movie, but I'm still missing that radio show. *sighs*

The Mark Week

I've been busy researching the availability of Mark's movies and voiceovers during the past week. You can access it all on Just The Best. There are separate lists for Movies on DVD, Movies on VHS, Voiceovers on DVD, Voiceovers on VHS and Voiceovers on CD. I found some real gems, so you should take a moment and check it all out.

I also found a cute, short Mark interview on YouTube. It's an on-set interview from when he did "Wing Commander 4". The first part is with Tom Wilson, the second part with Mark. Short, but nice.

I also found out that Mark narrated the featurette "Green Arrow: The Legend Of The Emerald Archer" on the DVD box for the 6th season of "Smallville". Go check out DVDTalk for all relevant information.

The A & E Mark Biography

Unbelievable as it sounds, I actually managed to stick to my pre-set schedule for the week. If you go to Just The Best you'll find an all-new section on the Mark Hamill biography screened by "Arts & Entertainment" in 2001.

I don't know how many of you have ever seen this. On the site I have a brief rundown and 13 screen captions. Unfortunately it seems that the A & E store no longer has the video for sale. I find this really sad, because this biography is such a wonderful feature.

On another note, I listened to yesterday's issue of "Better Things" this morning. So Mark took a vacation last week. Naughty man; he could have told us! *grins*

Whereas I found the new format they tried very, very interesting, I think I'd love for them to go back to what they first tried. In any case, it was highly enjoyable again and once again full of anecdotes from Mark's personal life. In short, 2 hours of fan heaven. :)

Mark Agenda

The amount of free time I've been enjoying has turned out to be counterproductive on all kinds of levels. I have found that if I have time, I try to do everything at once. The end result is that I don't get anything done at all.

So I have decided I'll set up a battle plan each week, which I will try to adhere to, and to tackle one thing at a time. My deadline will always be the Sunday update on Just The Best. This week I want to do the section on the Mark biography done by "Arts & Entertainment" in 2002.

This will be fun, because it'll be the perfect excuse to watch it again. :)

Cool

'Just The Best', Version 8.0

Usually, when I've finished a project as big as, say, a diploma thesis, I feel the persistent urge to change something on my Mark website. Most of the time, it is also during periods of intense studying that I happen to enhance my web programming skills and that I desperately want to put them to use.

Please check out the all-new Just The Best.

It looks completely different now, and much better, in my opinion. I completely re-structured it, tidied up the code and gave it a new layout. Please take a moment to peek at it and let me know what you think.
